We make corrugated boxes and polybags. A few years ago we went looking for a system to run the plant, didn't find one that fit, and stopped looking. We built it instead. It worked well enough that other manufacturers started asking how — so now we build for them too.
Every system we looked at handled the parts of a factory that are the same everywhere — invoices, contacts, a chart of accounts. None of them handled the parts that are ours: how a polybag job recorded in kilograms upstream becomes pieces or rolls downstream, how a partial delivery reconciles against an open PO, what actually happens when a customer changes a spec mid-run.
The other route was a vendor build. The pattern is familiar: the build is quoted low and the changes are quoted high. That works fine if your process is finished. Ours never is — new machine, new customer spec, new QC rule, every quarter. We were paying to keep our own system current, and getting slower at it.
Not as a product. As the thing we needed working on Monday morning. It runs our production floor, warehouse, orders and receivables now. The tools available today made that possible for a company our size, which would not have been true five years ago — and it's still not obvious to most factory owners that it's an option at all.
Suppliers, customers, other converters we know through the association. The conversations were never really about software. They were about a process someone had been working around for years. We didn't set out to do this — but it turns out it's a good way to end up in a real partnership with people, not just a transaction.
These are the areas we know because we live in them daily. Yours will look different — different machines, different units, different arguments about who owns which number.

Customer POs arrive as PDFs and scans. They can be read and turned into orders automatically instead of retyped by someone at 7am.
One movement record underneath, however many screens sit on top of it. Warehouse and production can't quietly hold different versions of the same number.
WhatsApp, mostly. Nobody in an Indonesian factory logs into a portal to check whether a delivery went out. Meet them where they are.
If your accounting sits on a machine in the finance room and you have no intention of moving it, that's a legitimate position. We build the operational layer around it and put the dashboards on web and phone.
Your process will change. That isn't scope creep, that's manufacturing. We don't want to be the vendor you avoid calling because every call has a price.
We start with whichever single thing is costing you the most time right now, and get it live. Not a twelve-month implementation with a go-live date nobody believes.
Which means we take a small number of engagements at a time, and we'll say so plainly if yours isn't a fit or if something off the shelf would serve you better.
